Description

Cinema Beltrade is an independent, single-screen cinema located in Milan’s lively NoLo district (North of Loreto). Originally established in the 1940s as a parish cinema, it faced closure in 2012. However, it was revitalized that same year by a cultural collective, transforming it into a vibrant venue dedicated to independent films, documentaries, and European cinema. Today, it is recognized as an important cultural hub offering a diverse and inclusive movie experience.

The cinema screens between five to seven films daily, all presented in their original language with Italian subtitles. Its programming includes a blend of contemporary releases, retrospectives, and special thematic events, often featuring director talks and film marathons. Cinema Beltrade also engages in educational initiatives, such as workshops exploring history through film, which has helped build a loyal audience of cinephiles, students, and educators alike.

Situated near the Pasteur metro station, Cinema Beltrade is easily accessible by public transport. Its intimate atmosphere, with classic red velvet curtains and a cozy setting, offers a nostalgic experience reminiscent of old-fashioned movie theaters. The cinema’s commitment to meaningful, quality films combined with its community-oriented spirit has made it a beloved institution in Milan’s cultural scene.
