Description
Watercity Waterpark is a large and vibrant water attraction located on Crete’s northern coast, between Heraklion and Hersonissos in the village of Anopolis. Covering nearly 87,000 square meters, the park offers over 36 different water slides, pools, and attractions, making it one of the biggest waterparks in Greece. It caters to all ages with high-speed thrill slides, wave pools, family rafting rides, and gentle splash zones for toddlers. Open seasonally from May through October, it operates daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The park is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking, and many local hotels offer shuttle services directly to the gates.
Ticket prices are around €29.50 for adults and €19.50 for children under 140 cm in height, while children under 90 cm enter for free. Guests can take advantage of discounted prices by booking tickets online in advance. On entry, visitors receive a barcoded wristband that acts as a cashless payment system within the park, allowing them to purchase food, drinks, lockers, and souvenirs without carrying money. This wristband system makes the experience convenient and secure, especially for families moving around the park.
The park places strong emphasis on safety and cleanliness. Certified lifeguards are stationed throughout the facility, and first aid services are readily available. Guests can rent towels or swimwear if needed, and locker and changing facilities are provided. Children who are not toilet-trained must wear swim diapers to comply with hygiene rules. Most visitors spend between 3 to 5 hours at the park, though it’s easy to make a full day of it. Arriving early is recommended to avoid long queues and make the most of all the attractions.
