Birmingham Botanical Gardens, located in Edgbaston, offers a serene escape just a short distance from Birmingham city centre. Spanning 15 acres, the gardens feature over 7,000 plant species, including the British National Bonsai Collection and four distinct glasshouses—tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean, and arid—showcasing a diverse range of flora. The gardens are open daily, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. From April to September, they operate from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays. During October to March, the hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. Admission prices are £7.50 for adults, £5.25 for children aged 5 and over, and £5.25 for concessions. A family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) is available for £22.00. Children under 5 enter for free. Parking is available for a fee, with free parking for members and blue badge holders.
The gardens are accessible by public transport, with nearby bus and train services connecting to the city centre.
