Teatro de Cancún, situated in the heart of the Zona Hotelera on Boulevard Kukulcán, is a prominent cultural venue in Cancún, Quintana Roo. Inaugurated on January 17, 2000, and designed by architect David Quintana Morones, it serves as a hub for a diverse array of performances, including theatre, dance, music, and film. The theatre is part of the El Embarcadero cultural complex, contributing to the city's vibrant arts scene.
The main auditorium boasts a seating capacity of 856, featuring an Italian-style stage with a proscenium width of 10 meters and a height of 5.5 meters, providing an intimate yet professional setting for performances. Upcoming events include theatrical productions such as "Alice and the Wonders of Borderline" on October 11, 2025, "Mothers, the Sky is the Limit!" on October 16, 2025, and "Seven Times Goodbye" on October 25, 2025. Additionally, the Royal Ukrainian Ballet will present "Swan Lake" on November 5, 2025, and "The Nutcracker" on December 4, 2025. Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán will also perform on November 30, 2025.
The theatre maintains a smart-casual dress code; gentlemen are advised not to wear sleeveless shirts or hats inside the auditorium. While photography and videography are generally prohibited during performances, exceptions may apply at the discretion of the organizers. The venue is accessible to individuals with mobility challenges, featuring ramps leading to the main seating areas; however, the mezzanine level is accessible only via stairs. For ticket purchases and further information, the box office operates Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
