Description
The Spiaggia di Lierna, situated in the town of Lierna on the eastern side of Lake Como, is a picturesque beach known for its natural beauty and tranquility. Its shoreline is made up of white pebbles, complemented by grassy areas, creating a unique and scenic environment. The beach is also known for its cleanliness, providing a serene atmosphere for visitors. The clear waters of the lake make it a popular spot for swimming, and the beach is also home to local wildlife, including ducks and swans. Visitors, however, are discouraged from feeding these animals.
Despite its popularity, the Spiaggia di Lierna can accommodate a large number of people, even during peak hours, without feeling crowded. In terms of amenities, the Spiaggia di Lierna offers chair rentals for visitors' convenience. While there are no facilities directly on the beach, a bar kiosk is available, and several restaurants are located in the nearby area, providing both take-out and terrace dining options. It should be noted, however, that dogs are not permitted on the beach. Parking is available near the beach, with recommended spots along Via Roma or Via Castello, which are located near the Castello fraction. Another suggested place for parking is near the Lierna train station, a short 7-minute walk from the beach. To reach the Spiaggia di Lierna, one can park in the suggested areas and take a leisurely walk to the beach. Its location in the quiet town of Lierna and its proximity to the ancient Castello di Lierna add to the beach's charm, making it one of the most enjoyable beach experiences on the side of Lake Como.
