Description
Award winning Southbourne Beach is one of Bournemouth's most popular beaches, loved by locals and visitors for its clean, sandy and shingle beaches located east of Boscombe Pier and the town centre. Southbourne beach can be accessed directly from Southbourne high street via Fisherman's walk.
A popular beach with families due to many facilities such as toilets with baby changing facilities, RNLI lifeguards, lost children centres, pubs and kiosks.
On the cliffs above the beach is the Fisherman’s Walk nature trail a lovely walk along between Fisherman's Avenue and Portman Crescent in Southbourne, linking to Southbourne Grove. It is a narrow strip of woodland with a nature trail and plenty of wildlife. The zig zag path leads all the way down to the beach. Alternatively, you can take the cliff lift. The Fisherman's Walk Cliff Lift was built in 1935 and is in operation every day from Easter until the end of October.
Southbourne Beach Blue Flag award winning beach also has many colourful beach huts available to rent all year round. Book a beach hut on the Bournemouth tourism website.
