Description
Serebryany Bor, or Silver Pinewood, is a vast forest park located in northwest Moscow, covering approximately 328.6 hectares. Formed on an artificial island during the construction of the Khoroshyovskoye Straightening Canal, it offers a serene natural escape within the city. The park is divided into five zones, including a protected area dedicated to scientific research and ecosystem preservation. Visitors can explore ecological trails such as “By Lake Bezdonnoye” and “In Harmony with Nature,” which wind through pine forests and wetlands, providing opportunities to observe local wildlife like squirrels, woodpeckers, and various bird species.
In the warmer months, Serebryany Bor becomes a popular recreational destination. The park features three public beaches along the Khimki Reservoir, including one of Moscow’s largest nudist beaches. These areas are equipped with amenities such as changing cabins, showers, bio-toilets, and rental points for sports and beach equipment. Additionally, picnic zones with barbecue grills, tables, and benches are available for visitors. During the winter, Beach No. 2 transforms into an ice rink, operating from 16:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 11:00 to 23:00 on weekends and holidays. The park also hosts the annual Eco-Picnic festival and offers guided tours along its ecological trails.
Accessing Serebryany Bor is convenient via public transportation. From Polezhaevskaya metro station, bus lines 20, 21, 65, or minibus 65 can take visitors directly to the park. Alternatively, from Oktyabrskoe Pole metro station, minibus 15M provides access to the park. The park is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00, with the beaches operating during the warmer months. Whether seeking relaxation, outdoor activities, or a connection with nature, Serebryany Bor offers a diverse range of experiences for all visitors.
