Rose Hall Great House, located in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a historic plantation home built in the 1770s and famous for its stunning Georgian architecture and the eerie legend of the “White Witch,” Annee Palmer. According to local lore, Annee was a cruel mistress who murdered her husbands and enslaved people before meeting a violent death herself. Visitors can explore the beautifully preserved house and its lush gardens while learning about the plantation’s history and these captivating stories through guided tours.
The house offers two main tours: the Day & Garden Tour runs Monday to Saturday from 9:15 AM to 4:00 PM and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, providing insights into the estate’s past and the famous legend. The Haunted Night Tour, available Wednesday to Saturday from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, is an interactive, theatrical experience with actors that brings the spooky tales to life. Reservations are required for the night tours, and the house is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Admission for the Day & Garden Tour is approximately $30 USD for adults and $10 for children aged 12 and under, while the Haunted Night Tour costs about $35 USD for adults and $15 for children. Children under 2 enter for free. Photography and video inside the house are not allowed, and the site is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and arrange their own transport, as no shuttle service is provided.
