Description
Roque Nublo is one of Gran Canaria’s most iconic natural landmarks, famous for its striking volcanic monolith and breath-taking panoramic views. Located within the Nublo Rural Park, this impressive rock formation rises 80 meters above the surrounding landscape, providing visitors with an unforgettable hiking experience.
The most popular trail to Roque Nublo starts at the La Goleta car park on the GC-60 road between San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Tunte) and Tejeda. This well-marked, 3-kilometer round-trip hike takes you through beautiful pine forests and ancient lava flows, leading to the base of the rock. Along the way and at the summit, you can enjoy stunning views of the Caldera de Tejeda, Pozo de las Nieves, and on clear days, Mount Teide on the nearby island of Tenerife.
To protect the environment and manage the number of visitors, access to Roque Nublo is regulated with a reservation system allowing 60 visitors per hour between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Parking near the site is limited, so many visitors use the shuttle bus service that runs from Cruz de Tejeda every 30 minutes. Roque Nublo is an excellent destination for hikers and nature lovers looking to experience the natural beauty of Gran Canaria while enjoying spectacular views.
