Description
Paradise Valley is a stunning natural oasis located about 35 kilometres north of Agadir, Morocco, nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Known for its lush palm groves, turquoise rock pools, and dramatic limestone cliffs, the valley follows the path of the Tamraght River. Its name reflects its reputation as a hidden Eden, where banana trees, fig trees, and date palms flourish in stark contrast to the surrounding arid terrain. The scenery is especially striking in the spring, when the river is full and waterfalls cascade through the rugged gorge.
The valley is open year-round and has no official entrance fee, making it a popular and accessible destination for both locals and tourists. There is a small parking fee (usually around 10 MAD), and from there, visitors follow a dirt trail that winds through scenic paths toward the pools—roughly a 20- to 30-minute hike. While there are a few small cafés and local vendors along the way, facilities are basic, so it’s best to bring water, snacks, swimwear, sunscreen, and suitable footwear for hiking and wading through rocky sections.
Paradise Valley is a haven for nature lovers, hikers, and swimmers alike. It offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of opportunities to swim in natural pools, sunbathe on warm rocks, or take in the views from shaded hammocks under palm trees. More adventurous visitors can enjoy cliff jumping or exploring the less-crowded upper reaches of the valley. Whether you're after relaxation or a touch of adrenaline, the valley's unspoiled beauty and refreshing waters make it one of Morocco’s most enchanting natural spots.
