Description
The Bygdøy peninsula is home to three main beaches: Huk, Paradisbukta, and Bygdøy Sjøbad. Huk is easily the most popular and it's also the simplest to access, a short walk from the bus stop of the same name. Paradisbukta and Bygdøy Sjøbad require a bit more walking but it's well worth the effort as they are surrounded by beautiful nature. All the beaches have platforms in the water, as well as kiosks, toilets, and outdoor showers.
Paradisbukta is a sandy beach on the western side of the peninsula just over a kilometer from Huk beach. You'll find sand and grass areas and it is possible to barbeque. The ocean is really quiet here, providing a calm and relaxing spot for a swim. The area is surrounded by beautiful nature, so it's easy and pleasant to take some short walks.
From Huk bus stop, head up Chr. Frederiks vei. It's an 8 to 10-minute walk and the path is clearly signposted. There is a brown and white kiosk and toilets at the beach entrance.
