Northshore Beach Verified listing

Northshore Beach is a free public beach located in the Slidell area, off Carr Drive on Lake Pontchartrain. St. Tammany Parish Government’s Department of Public Works corrected erosion issues. Crews brought in several loads of sand to fix this problem. The beach is open to the public from 7AM-11PM daily. The beach area has two shady pavilions, parking, and picnic tables. It's utilized for swimming, wind sailing, fishing, and other activities; making it the perfect spot for an afternoon in the sun!

- Amenities: The beach also has a playground for children, as well as volleyball courts, and there are restrooms and showers available for public use. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they must be leashed at all times.

-Activities: The sand color of the beach is light brown, and it offers plenty of activities for visitors to enjoy, such as swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and fishing.

-  Parking: Northshore Beach has a parking lot available for visitors, and it is free of charge. The parking lot is located near the beach entrance, and there are several parking spaces available.

- Fun fact: Northshore Beach was once a dumping ground for debris and waste, but after years of community effort, it was transformed into a beautiful beach and recreational area.

- Attractions: Nearby attractions include Fontainebleau State Park, which has hiking trails, a swimming pool, and a fishing pier. Visitors can also take a short drive to Bayou Lacombe, which offers kayaking and paddleboarding rentals. In addition, there are several golf courses and shopping centers in the area.
