Located at 160 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez, in the historic Cimiez district of Nice, the museum showcases the rich archaeological heritage of the region, focusing on the ancient Roman city of Cemenelum. Visitors can explore permanent and temporary exhibitions featuring artifacts from the Bronze Age through the early Middle Ages, including ceramics, sculptures, and domestic items unearthed from local digs. The museum is complemented by an outdoor archaeological site with preserved ruins, including a Roman amphitheatre and baths, offering an immersive experience into ancient Roman life.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the winter season (November 1 to April 30) and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the summer season (May 2 to October 31). It is closed on Mondays and on legal public holidays in France, including January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, and December 25. Ticket prices are approximately €5 for adults, with reduced rates for groups of 10 or more. A 3-day Museum Pass is available for €15, granting access to all municipal museums and galleries in Nice. Entry is free for children under 18, students, job seekers, teachers, and individuals with disabilities and their companions.
