Description
Kino Jadran is an open-air cinema located inside the historic city walls of Dubrovnik. Operated by the cultural institution Kinematografi Dubrovnik, it runs seasonally from early June to late September. Found on Ulica za Rokom (just behind St. Roko Church), the venue accommodates around 300 guests and features a charming outdoor stage that’s also used for theatre, music, and dance performances, adding variety to its summer programming.
The cinema showcases a diverse selection of films, including international blockbusters, family-friendly movies, animated features, and occasional arthouse or themed screenings. Most films are shown in the evening, typically around 9:00 PM, when the weather is cooler and the ambience is ideal for outdoor viewing. Family-oriented packages are sometimes available, offering deals on tickets, snacks, and drinks. If there is rain, screenings may be moved to an indoor venue such as Kino Sloboda.
There is no formal dress code—casual, comfortable attire is recommended, and it’s wise to bring a light sweater or blanket for cooler nights. While there’s no full restaurant service, basic refreshments such as popcorn, drinks, and snacks are available on site. Tickets can be bought at the box office or reserved in advance on weekdays. The unique location, framed by ancient stone walls and the evening sky, makes Kino Jadran a memorable and atmospheric spot for watching films in Dubrovnik.
