Description
Beautiful public beach on the South side of English Bay between the North foot of Discovery Street and just West of Alma Street . Site of the popular summer Folk Music Festival and the Jericho Sailing Centre. Great launching area for wind surfers. Concession at East side of Park plus an off-leash area for dogs. Life guarded daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day.
In the summer, Jericho's immensely popular beaches and sailing club attract people from all over Vancouver who want to experience the sparkling waters of English Bay. The park offers plenty of recreation opportunities during other seasons as well, from tennis and field sports to bird-watching opportunities, picnic areas and plenty of trails and paths along the water and through the forested areas. In winter the quiet solitude of the beach provides views of snow-capped North Shore mountains. A major restoration of the beach in 2013 including removal of the Jericho Marginal Wharf has restored nature to the water's edge.
