Description
Gorynych is a grill, bakery, and bar all in one, located at Rozhdestvensky Boulevard 1, in a lively part of central Moscow. The venue is part of the revived Central Market complex, and has large windows and a terrace that offer views of the boulevards. The design evokes fantasy‑Russian folklore: smoky metal, dark wood, curved stone, high ceilings, dramatic lighting, and décor that feels like a dragon’s cave. There’s an open kitchen and visible ovens, jospers, and smokers so you can see the food being prepared over fire.
The food at Gorynych is “new Russian” cuisine: traditional dishes with creative, global twists. You’ll find Neapolitan pizza, steaks aged in‑house, grilled seafood platters, hearty soups like borscht with smoked pear, and inventive starters like smoked lamb sausage, or baked eggplant with yuzu sour cream. The bakery is also excellent—fresh bread, including gluten‑free types, is baked in house and often given as a complimentary starter. The menu also includes good vegetarian choices, and breakfast/brunch items for earlier visitors.
Gorynych’s atmosphere is casual‑chic: upscale but relaxed, with a friendly staff. It’s suitable for a range of occasions—breakfast, casual lunch, romantic dinner, or drinks with friends. The dress code is smart casual. It’s open daily, generally starting in the morning. On weekends the restaurant stays open late. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak times, since it’s quite popular. Prices are toward the higher end but many diners feel you get good value for the quality and ambiance.
