Description
FreeWheelin’ Bike Tours & Rentals offers an engaging and eco-friendly way to explore New Orleans, combining local history with scenic routes. Located at 317 Burgundy Street in the French Quarter, this family-owned business has been providing guided and self-guided bike tours since 2011. Their tours include the signature “Creole & Crescent” pedal bike tour, the electric “Breezy Big Easy” tour, and the Garden District ride, each designed to showcase the city’s rich culture and architecture. For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, FreeWheelin’ also offers cruiser, road, and e-bike rentals, complete with helmets and optional handlebar bags.
Tours are available daily, with morning and afternoon departures, and last approximately 2 to 3 hours. The Garden District tour, for instance, covers about 7 miles and includes visits to historic mansions and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. Rental prices start at $20 for a 4-hour period, and guided tours begin at $39 per person. Reservations are recommended but not required; however, booking in advance is encouraged, especially during peak tourist seasons. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
FreeWheelin’ is committed to sustainability and community engagement. They support local businesses and donate a portion of their proceeds to local charities. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a local looking to rediscover the city, FreeWheelin’ provides a fun, informative, and memorable way to experience New Orleans.
