Description
The Emirates National Auto Museum is a distinctive automotive collection situated approximately 45 kilometres south of Abu Dhabi in Al Dhafra. Housed within a pyramid-shaped structure, the museum showcases over 200 vehicles amassed by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, affectionately known as the “Rainbow Sheikh.” The collection encompasses a diverse array of vehicles, including classic American cars, military trucks, off-road vehicles, and a notable Mercedes-Benz “rainbow” collection, which features cars in every colour of the rainbow. Additionally, visitors can view the world's largest motorized model car—a 4:1 scale replica of a Willys Jeep—and the largest motorhome, a 122-ton, eight-bedroom mobile home.
The museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing ample time for visitors to explore the extensive collection. Admission is AED 50 for adults, while children under 10 years old can enter free of charge. Please note that the museum does not accept card payments; cash is preferred, and an additional charge applies for card transactions. Free parking is available on-site for visitors arriving by car.
While public transportation options to the museum are limited, taxis are readily available and provide a convenient means of access. The Emirates National Auto Museum offers a unique and captivating experience for automotive enthusiasts and families alike, making it a worthwhile addition to any Abu Dhabi itinerary.
