Located at the base of Diamond Head and encompassing two acres along the cliffs, this beach primarily attracts surfers and features beautiful views, tide pools, good waves, a running path, and extensive coral reef. If you're lucky, you might even see a monk seal!

WARNINGS!: Because of the reef, this beach isn't the best for swimming. If you're a surfer, use caution when choosing a spot to paddle out as in some places the reef extends all the way up to the shoreline and the current can be strong. If you're just going to enjoy the beach -- there are very few spots along the beach with shade, so take lots of sunscreen!

There is a sandy path leading down to the beach and while it is a bit of a walk to get down, it is not strenuous. Although there are almost always surfers in the water, it is not nearly as crowded as the breaks in Waikiki and is very popular with locals because of that.

If the surf is small, the beach can be a good spot for snorkeling just be aware of the reef! The beach is fairly narrow and at high tide there can sometimes be very little beach at all. It is also typically fairly windy, which can be a deterrent to sunbathers. However, above the beach is a grassy area perfect for sunning, picnics, and enjoying views of Diamond Head Lighthouse, the mountain itself, and the cliff-lined coast.
