Description
Bournemouth Gardens Tennis Centre is situated in Central Gardens, nestled alongside the Bourne Stream in the heart of Bournemouth town centre. The centre features eight tennis courts, including four floodlit artificial grass courts, one floodlit macadam court, and three acrylic courts which are covered by an inflatable dome from October through April. The facility also offers a well-equipped clubhouse with showers, changing rooms, a café/bar, a racket and ball shop, and professional racket-stringing services. Its riverside setting makes it an attractive and convenient spot for both casual play and more regular sessions.
Pay-and-play access costs around £10 per hour, with discounts available through local council booking systems. Households can also opt for an annual membership at approximately £75–£80, which includes daily access for one hour of court time and additional benefits. Guests may join for a small fee of £3 per session, and racket hire is available at £2, with a deposit required. While the dome allows for indoor play during the colder months, all courts are available year-round, and floodlighting ensures evening games can continue throughout the darker seasons.
The tennis centre typically operates from around 8:00 am to between 7:30 pm and 10:00 pm, depending on the season and day of the week. All bookings must be made online via the ClubSpark system, which requires a one-time registration and provides users with an access PIN. Coaching is offered for both adults and juniors through the resident coaching team, with holiday camps available during school breaks. Bookings are generally limited to one hour per household per day under membership, and all guest fees or equipment hire must be arranged at the clubhouse reception.
