Description
The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum offers an immersive, interactive experience that brings the pivotal 1773 protest to life. Located on the Congress Street Bridge in Boston, the museum features authentically restored 18th-century ships—the Beaver and the Eleanor—where visitors can participate in a reenactment of the historic tea toss. The experience includes live actors, holographic presentations, and the award-winning documentary Let It Begin Here, which captures the spirit of defiance and freedom that characterized the event.
Visitors can explore the ships' quarters, meet the captain, and learn about life at sea during the 18th century. The museum also houses the Robinson Half Tea Chest, the only known tea chest still in existence from the original Boston Tea Party. Additionally, holographic presentations offer differing perspectives from both Patriots and Tories, providing a multifaceted view of the event's significance.
Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the museum offers general admission tickets starting at $35 for adults and $26 for children. Reservations are required, and guests are advised to check in on-site 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
