Description

Acrobranch Melrose, nestled within the serene James and Ethel Gray Park in Melrose, Johannesburg, offers an exhilarating treetop adventure suitable for all ages. As the first Acrobranch park established in South Africa, it features a variety of obstacle courses that wind through the trees, providing a unique blend of fun and fitness. Participants can challenge themselves with zip lines, rope bridges, Tarzan swings, and cargo nets, all while being securely harnessed and guided by trained instructors. The park's setting in a lush forested area adds to the immersive experience, making it a perfect spot for family outings, team-building activities, or a fun day with friends.

The park operates on a seasonal schedule: from September to April, it's open Wednesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last slot at 4:00 PM; and from May to August, Wednesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last slot at 3:00 PM. It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Sessions typically last around 2 hours, depending on the course and individual pace. For those planning a visit, it's recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time to complete the necessary safety briefing and gear fitting. The park operates on a cash-free basis; all payments should be made online or via card at the park.

Acrobranch Melrose provides a range of courses tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The 'Playing Cubs' course is designed for children aged 3–6 years, offering 13 obstacles close to the ground. For older children and adults, courses like 'Sprinting Cheetahs', 'Hunting Lions', and 'Stalking Leopards' offer varying levels of challenge, with obstacles reaching heights up to 8.5 meters. The 'Big Zip' is a highlight, a 140-meter-long zip line that delivers an adrenaline rush for participants aged 7 and up. Prices range from R110 for the 'Playing Cubs' course to R350 for the 'High Flying & 3 Big Zips' combo. Climbing gloves are mandatory for participants aged 7 and older and can be purchased for R25 at the park. Whether you're seeking a thrilling adventure or a family-friendly outing, Acrobranch Melrose offers an unforgettable experience in the heart of Johannesburg.
