The restored pier offers panoramic views of Poole Bay and serves as a popular spot for fishing with a permit.

The beach is lively and activity-focused, with features like climbing boulders, slacklining, table tennis, and volleyball courts. Watersports are especially popular here, with surf schools offering lessons and rentals, particularly near the pier. Lifeguards patrol the beach daily from late spring to early autumn, typically between May and September, making it a safe environment for swimming and other water-based activities.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1 May and 30 September but are welcome at other times with some restrictions. Open fires and camping are not permitted, though electric barbecues are available for public use during the summer.
