Description
Aquarium Cap Blanc is a unique marine experience housed within a natural coastal cave near Sant Antoni de Portmany. This former lobster storage grotto—locally known as the “Lobster Cave”—has been transformed into an aquarium featuring a serene, atmospheric setting. Visitors can explore a cavern housing a large lagoon of roughly 300 m², alongside several fish tanks, all connected by wooden walkways that invite you to venture deeper into this immersive environment.
The aquarium showcases an impressive variety of Mediterranean marine life—including groupers, moray eels, lobsters, sea breams, rays, octopus, seahorses, scorpionfish, and more. In addition to live animals, there’s a collection of interesting specimens like shark eggs, sea sponges, mollusks, and invertebrates, offering a deeper look into marine biodiversity. The facility also serves as a marine species recovery centre, where injured creatures—most notably sea turtles—receive care until they can be returned to their natural habitat.
Open daily during the summer months and limited hours in winter, Aquarium Cap Blanc offers affordable entry for families, with adult and child pricing designed to be inclusive. The cave’s unique setting creates a calm and profoundly memorable experience, perfect for curious minds. After your visit, the nearby terrace overlooking the sea makes for a lovely spot to relax and take in the coastal views.
