Description
Elia Beach is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on Mykonos, located about 10 kilometres southeast of Mykonos Town. Known for its long stretch of golden sand and clear turquoise waters, Elia offers a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the island’s busier party beaches. The beach is easily accessible by car, taxi, or boat, and offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Its size makes it ideal for those seeking space and tranquillity, though it still provides all the amenities expected of a well-organized beach.
Elia Beach caters to a diverse crowd, welcoming families, couples, solo travellers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, and a few restaurants offering local cuisine and fresh seafood. Water sports are also available, including jet skiing, windsurfing, and parasailing, making it a great option for both relaxation and adventure. Nudism is accepted in some sections, especially toward the far ends of the beach, which is common in Mykonos.
There’s no entrance fee to access Elia Beach, but sunbed and umbrella rentals come at a cost, especially during peak season. It's best to arrive early in the day during summer months, as the beach can get crowded despite its size. Whether you're seeking a peaceful sunbathing spot, a swim in crystal-clear waters, or a more inclusive and laid-back beach environment, Elia Beach offers one of the best all-around seaside experiences on the island.
