Description
Nestled just on the edge of Dubai’s cityscape, the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club is a championship 18‑hole, par‑72 layout stretching approximately 7,300 yards. Designed by Karl Litten and established in 1988 as the region’s first grass golf course, it’s set among natural desert dunes with indigenous flora, seven freshwater and saltwater lakes, dramatic fairways, and scenic views of the Dubai skyline. The course's name, “Majlis,” comes from the Arabic word for a meeting place, and one of its standout architectural features is located between the 8th and 9th holes.
Playing here is a prestigious experience with green fees typically ranging from AED 795–995 depending on the season and day of the week. The price usually includes a shared buggy and access to the driving range. Club rentals cost around AED 257, and shoe rentals range between AED 77–90. A valid handicap is required—men must have a handicap up to 28, and women up to 36. A dress code is strictly enforced: collared shirts, tailored shorts or trousers, and soft-spike golf shoes are mandatory. Casual clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, or sandals is not permitted.
For holiday-goers, the Majlis Course offers more than just a game of golf. The clubhouse features fine dining, a sports bar, and casual restaurants, along with a pro shop, spa, and fitness centre. Night golf is available on the nearby Faldo Course. The Majlis is also home to major international tournaments like the Dubai Desert Classic and the Ladies Classic, giving it a strong sense of prestige. While the experience is world-class, some visitors have noted high prices and occasional course wear, so it’s advisable to book in advance and arrive early to make the most of your visit.
