Description
Zakrzówek Park & Reservoir, located just 3 kilometres from Kraków's city centre in the Dębniki district, is a transformed limestone quarry turned into a stunning recreational area. The reservoir, with its turquoise waters and steep limestone cliffs, offers a unique oasis reminiscent of coastal resorts. The official swimming season runs from June 22 to September 3, with lifeguards on duty from 10:00 to 18:00, Tuesday through Sunday; the area is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
The swimming area features five floating pools of varying depths, including a 40 cm pool suitable for children and deeper pools up to 350 cm for experienced swimmers. Access is free, but to ensure safety and prevent overcrowding, a maximum of 600 people are allowed at a time. Visitors receive wristbands upon entry, and once the capacity is reached, others must wait for guests to leave before entering.
Beyond swimming, Zakrzówek offers scenic walking and cycling paths, climbing walls, picnic spots, and barbecue areas. The surrounding park is rich in biodiversity, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. While the swimming area has designated hours and lifeguards, other parts of the reservoir can be accessed at your own risk. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the "beach" area provides a less crowded alternative, though it's important to note that there are no lifeguards present in this section.
