Description
This beach inside the Málaga city limits is one of the largest in the city. It’s famous for witnessing the phenomenon that locals know as the “Ola del Melillero.” The arrival of the daily ferry from Melilla docks at the Port of Málaga causes a slight increase in sea level that surprises those visitors that come to enjoy a calm day at the beach. That’s why it’s best to be careful with your towel and other personal belongings because they could get wet!
This beach with dark sand stands out for the old smokestack you can spot on the coastline. Furthermore, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
