Cinéma Jean-Paul Belmondo, formerly known as the Mercury, is the oldest cinema in Nice, located at 16 Place Garibaldi. Established in 1911 as the Politéama, it was later renamed Mercury and recently rebranded to honour the legendary French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo. The cinema was inaugurated under its new name in November 2023 by his son, Paul Belmondo, in a ceremony that included a photo exhibition and a special documentary screening.
This cinema, classified as Art & Essai, offers a rich and eclectic program that combines classic films, original versions with subtitles, and contemporary releases.
