Description
Alykes Beach is a popular sandy beach located in the Kato Paphos tourist area, about 2.5 kilometres from Paphos Town Centre. It’s situated along Poseidonos Avenue and is easily accessible by foot, bike, bus, or car, with nearby parking and a bus stop. The beach stretches around 200 meters and is protected by two breakwaters, creating calm and clean waters ideal for swimming. Alykes Beach has been awarded the EU Blue Flag for its high environmental and safety standards.
The beach features deep golden sands and is surrounded by abundant greenery. Amenities include sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, public toilets, changing rooms, showers, and waste disposal bins. Water sports are available, and the area is close to numerous restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks, convenience stores, and accommodations. Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are on duty from April to October.
Alykes Beach is fully accessible to individuals with special needs, offering a beach track and a floating wheelchair available for public use free of charge. The floating wheelchair is designed to move easily on the sand and float in the water, ensuring that all visitors can enjoy the beach experience.
