Description

Castel Plage is a stylish private beach club and Mediterranean restaurant located at 8 Quai des États-Unis, right at the base of Castle Hill and at the far eastern end of the Promenade des Anglais. Nestled between cliffs and the sea, it offers a more exclusive beach experience with sun loungers, parasols, and beachside service. The setting is beautiful and relaxed, with rocky coves, deep blue water, and a touch of glamour. It’s a great choice if you're looking for comfort, privacy, and a full-service beach day — a sharp contrast to the adjacent public pebbled beaches, which offer no amenities.

The beach club operates daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the restaurant serving lunch from around 12:00 to 4:00 PM and dinner from approximately 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, especially during the high season. Summer (April to September) is the prime time to visit, when the weather is perfect and all services are in full swing. A full day beach bed and parasol rental typically costs around €30, with towels available for an additional fee. The restaurant offers refined Mediterranean cuisine, including seafood and regional dishes, with main courses usually starting at around €30 and up. During summer evenings, the atmosphere becomes romantic, making it a popular spot for sunset dinners.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for both beach beds and restaurant tables, particularly in July and August. While you can’t usually choose an exact sunbed location, arriving early helps secure the best spots. Dress is casual during the day but leans toward smart casual in the evening. The beach is within walking distance of central Nice, although parking nearby is limited and often paid. Castel Plage offers a high-end beach experience with stunning views and a relaxed pace, ideal for couples, solo travellers, or small groups looking for a luxurious yet laid-back day by the sea.
