Description
ChocoMuseo has locations in Santo Domingo (in the Colonial Zone) and in Punta Cana. It is open every day, typically from around 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Entry to the basic museum/tasting experience is free, so you can walk in, see how cacao is processed, sample chocolates, and browse the shop.
There are optional workshops you can pay for if you want a more hands‑on experience. One of the more popular ones costs about US$25 for around two hours: it includes roasting and grinding cacao beans, making your own chocolate bar, and tasting several chocolate drinks. Shorter workshops are also possible (about 45 minutes or even 20 minutes) for lower fees, where you’ll still get to make a chocolate treat and sample.
ChocoMuseo is easy to reach if you’re staying in or visiting Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone or Punta Cana. It has a shop and café on site, so even if you don’t stay for a workshop, it’s a nice spot to relax, enjoy some quality chocolate, and buy souvenirs. If you want to do a workshop, it’s best to reserve in advance, especially during high tourist season.
