Description
The Bunny “Striker” Lee Museum & Recording Studio is located at 17 Burns Avenue, Duhaney Park, Kingston 20, Jamaica. It is dedicated to Edward O’Sullivan “Bunny Striker” Lee, one of the most influential producers in reggae, ska, and rocksteady history. The museum showcases his life and contributions through interactive exhibits, rare vinyl records, photographs, personal memorabilia, vintage instruments, and original studio equipment. Visitors can also explore “Idler’s Rest,” a spot where musicians used to gather, as well as a gift shop, lounge, and the functioning recording studio itself.
The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. Guided tours last about 45 minutes and include video presentations in each section of the museum. The studio is still operational and available for voice-overs or recording sessions with advance booking. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and take their time exploring the immersive spaces that celebrate Jamaica’s rich musical heritage.
Admission prices vary depending on visitor category, including general admission, educational groups, and senior specials, though specific pricing details are best confirmed ahead of time. As a newly launched institution—with its full official opening planned for early 2025—some schedules and services may change temporarily. Visitors are encouraged to book tours in advance to ensure availability and the best possible experience.
