Description

Antalya Zoo, officially known as Antalya Doğal Yaşam Parkı (Antalya Natural Life Park), is located in the Kepez district, about 13 km from Antalya city centre. Nestled within the Kepezaltı Picnic Area, the zoo is spread across a large, natural hillside terrain, offering spacious enclosures that mimic the animals’ natural habitats. It’s home to a wide variety of species, including lions, tigers, bears, wolves, zebras, camels, deer, pumas, and monkeys. Visitors will also find reptiles like snakes and crocodiles, a range of birds including flamingos, vultures, and peacocks, and a small petting area with goats and other farm animals. Water features, shaded spots, and green areas make it a pleasant setting for a day out.

You’ll want to dedicate 2 to 3 hours to fully enjoy the zoo, though families or animal lovers might prefer a half-day visit. Because of its hillside location, some paths are steep or uneven, so wear good walking shoes and expect a bit of uphill walking. Mornings or late afternoons are the best times to visit, especially in summer when midday heat can be intense. The layout is quite spread out, so bringing a stroller for kids or mobility aid for those who need it is advisable. While there are areas to rest and picnic, the zoo doesn’t have extensive food options, so bringing your own snacks and water is a good idea.

Entry fees are very affordable, with adult pedestrian tickets typically costing just a few Turkish Lira. Children under 12 are usually free, and vehicles are charged a small entrance fee if you’re driving in. The zoo is open daily, with summer hours from approximately 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and shorter hours in winter, closing around 5:30 PM. You can reach the zoo by car (ample parking available) or via public transport with some walking from the nearest bus or tram stop. Be sure to bring sun protection, a camera, and a map of the grounds if available—it’s a large space, and planning your route helps make the most of your visit.
